Course Description
"Simple Steps for a Successful Branding as an Instructor" is a week-long blended learning seminar designed for instructors of the Coffee Critics Association (CCA). This seminar is designed to teach CCA instructors basic design and branding knowledge, the importance of consistent branding and multimedia learning, and design skills to create visual aids, such as presentations and handouts, that follow the organization’s brand guidelines.

Course readings and videos are available on the website. No textbooks are required for this course.
Required Equipment & Skills
This course is a blended learning course. You are expected to have an Internet-enabled laptop. You’ll also need to be able to perform skills such as submitting assignments via email, participating in discussions, viewing videos, reading articles, and designing handouts and presentation slides using Canva.
You will need to use a laptop or desktop computer to access this course to maximize your ability to participate. You should not attempt to use only a tablet or phone to complete this course. Please test whether your device will be adequate to complete the required course activities. This may include accessing web pages, sending files via email, viewing videos with sound, and taking a course evaluation survey via Google Form.
The webpage for the online learning is easy to navigate; however, please let the instructor know if you need assistance with locating anything in the course, accessing course materials, or general student concerns such as meeting deadlines and participating in the in-person meeting.

05/07/2022 (Sat): The learners will receive a welcome email which includes:

An introduction of the facilitator (me)

A timeline/overview of the seminar (a deadline to complete the online/out-of-class learning, a deadline to submit two activities deliverables, and a date for the in-class meeting)

05/10/2022 (Tues): The learners will complete the online/out-of-class learning

11:59 PM, 05/11/2022 (Wed): The learners will submit the activities deliverables and two questions that they would like to discuss in the in-class meeting to the facilitator via e-mail

Two activities:

Activity 1: Creating one A4-size handout using Canva
-
Activity 2: Creating two presentation slides using Canva
-
6:00-9:00 PM, 05/13/2022 (Fri): The learners will participate in the in-class meeting
-
In-person activities:
-
The facilitator shares her two activities deliverables to demonstrate how to successfully use CCA brand guidelines and Canva templates (15 mins).

The learners share their challenges and success in using Canva for the activities (30 mins).
-
The learners are divided into small groups (more than two people) to complete a handout with questions (15 mins). The questions are:

Who is the target audience for your class?
-
How can we differentiate CCA from other competitors?
-
What are the five keywords of CCA to you?
-
What are your three major roles as CCA members?
-
What are your three most used teaching tools?
-
-
Each group share their answers (30 mins).

The learners and facilitator discuss how to improve CCA branding (30 mins).

The facilitators provide a handout listing all of the questions that each learner submitted and discuss about the questions (1 hr).

After the in-person meeting, 05/13/2022 (Fri): The learners will receive an email from the facilitator which includes:

A thank you message to the learners for participating in the seminar
-
A Google form to evaluate the seminar
-
A Google form for them to submit a design request in the future (the learners will be asked to fill out the form by 5/15/2022)
